The super deluxe armchair derives it's name from it's comfort and luxurious look and feel. Despite the clever construction method used, this chair is difficult to produce, and so quite expensive. Both the seat and back are folded out of a single sheet of metal. The bends and ribs are created by folding and seaming. The chair rocks like a rocking chair on a suspended hinge point. All in all, it features a chain of unique details. Piet Hein Eek has a white leather stainless steel version and a black version with fabric. Piet calls the black one the Mad Max armchair after one of the last films that he bothered to watch and that (unlike most other films) he actually found inspiring. To him the black one symbolizes evil and the white one good. It looks a bit futuristic with all those angles. The rigid lines of the armchair form a sharp contrast to the person sitting in it, producing a particularly compelling image.
